Award-winning Madre Chocolate's farm and factory tour only happens every few months. So sign up early for a chance to visit a local organic cacao farm in Kahuku where kids can see the fruit right on the tree.
You'll taste the pulp of the cacao, help harvest it, learn how its fermented and dried.
Then, you'll drive back to Madre's Kailua factory roast, crack, and winnow your own cacao and see how it turns into chocolate.
There will, of course, be some tastings of a traditional Mexican cacao drink and you'll dip local fruit into Madre's dark chocolate as a snack.
Kids are welcome. Those limited spots go first.
