We believe teaching & living with Aloha & in Pono encourages the best from caregivers, teachers, children, families and community members.
Whose House Is This?
Today we talked about the different types of houses animals live in & did an art project with a beehive & a doghouse.
It's amazing how drawn children of all ages are to aquariums!
Aquariums are proven to reduce stress, which is what makes them ideal in classrooms of small children who aren’t used to being away from home and their parents for extended periods of the day.
The educational benefits of a classroom aquarium include teaching children how fish live which can help to explain the lives of creatures generally. As well as this, classroom aquariums teach children how to look after fish, which can also be used to show them how to look after other animals as well as how to nurture others and care for those more vulnerable than themselves.

Happy Aloha Friday!!
“For a small child there is no division between playing and learning; between the things he or she does ‘just for fun’ and things that are ‘educational.’ The child learns while living and any part of living that is enjoyable is also play.” ~ Penelope Leach
