Wait List & Enrollment Process
These policies and procedures ensure that Ka Hana Pono staff can
effectively communicate with prospective parents and students regarding
potential enrollment.
There is high demand by parents for their children to attend a
quality-based, licensed and unique program such as Ka Hana Pono. Therefore, listed below are policies and
procedures pertaining to the waiting list and to the process of registration.
Waiting List:
- Complete an application to be placed on the waiting list (no-fee)
- Application is available on our website www.ka-hana-pono-daycare.blogspot.com
- A child can be wait listed at birth or later
- Check your email often as we will communicate with you primarily by email.
- When a spot becomes available for your child, we will notify you to see if you are still interested.
- If you are, we will send you a formal offer email and schedule an interview and tour.
- To reserve a spot you will need to send in a non-refundable enrollment fee of $150.00
- The first months tuition will be due two weeks prior to your childs start date
- You will receive a schedule of days and times to bring your child the week prior to his/her official start date – these planned short visits / play dates are to introduce your child to their new play-school environment.
- You will also receive a packet of information including an application, a copy of this handbook, registration forms, medical record request forms, and other documents needed for your child’s folder.
Registration / Ka Hana Pono (KHP) accepts children in the following order:
- Currently enrolled students
- Siblings of current KHP students, siblings of former KHP students
- New Families from the waiting list
- Open Registration/Walk in Registration if space permits
Important Notes:
- The best way to ensure a spot is open for you around the time of your preference is to get on the wait-list as soon as possible (9-12 months in advance).
- The school population is always in a state of flux- the numbers can never be predicted. Availability can vary widely year to year.
- Some factors that must be considered for student placement include age, gender, date of birth, and special needs. Therefore, some decision-making may take place at the director’s discretion when determining student enrollment.
- It is highly suggested that prospective parents also apply to other programs to ensure placement.
- Completion of an application does not guarantee placement at Ka Hana Pono Daycare.
- The director will only notify families that have been accepted into the program, it is the responsibility of the parents to notify Ka Hana Pono of any changes to their application.
